Day 1:
After our scenic drive from Denver, we arrived at our stay at The Springs Resort. As soon as we arrived, there was live music from a local band playing in the Lodge Building. We spent the evening admiring Mother Spring, the deepest hot spring in the world. The spring is at least 1,000 ft deep and could fit the entire Eiffel Tower! We also took some time to unwind from our travel day by soaking in the thermal springs (hotel guests receive 24-hour access!).
Day 2:
We started the day by grabbing breakfast burritos, crepes, and coffee at the Springs Cafe at the Springs Resort. The food was terrific fuel for our active day ahead. We then started our 30-minute drive to go skiing at Wolf Creek.
Wolf Creek is known for its deep powder snow, perfect for beginners and experienced skiers. With over 90 trails and five terrain parks, plenty of terrains exists to explore. The ski resort also offers an array of amenities, including on-site restaurants, equipment rentals, and ski lessons. The best part about this resort was the minimal crowds and short lines for the ski lift!
We ended the day by soothing our muscles by soaking in 25 hot springs at The Springs Resort. Then, we ordered Vitality Tonics, the perfect refreshment to end the night.
Day 3:
We started the third day with the most bucket list activity, riding in a hot air balloon.
We experienced this adventure with Rocky Mountain Balloon Adventures. Floating high in a hot air balloon over Pagosa Springs, Colorado, is an experience like no other. With its stunning views of the San Juan Mountains and the San Juan River, this is a unique way to experience the area’s beauty.
The hot air balloon ride is a peaceful and tranquil experience. As you float high above the scenery, you can take in the grandeur of the surrounding landscape. As you drift through the sky, you can also spot wildlife, including deer, elk, and even eagles.
The hot air balloon rides are also a great way to get an aerial view of Pagosa Springs. From this vantage point, you can take in the views of the town and the surrounding mountains. You can also spot some of the area’s iconic landmarks, such as the Hot Springs and the Horse Gulch trail.

We then returned to The Springs Resort and got our first couples massage.
The massage is a great way to unwind and de-stress. Combining massage techniques, including Swedish and deep tissue, will help relieve tension and promote relaxation. It’s an excellent way for couples to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend quality time together.
The massage room can also be a great place to talk and reconnect. With its calming atmosphere, couples can open up and discuss anything they’d like. The massage therapist can also provide advice and tips on how to make the most of the session.
We ended the evening dining at a local restaurant called the Meander.
Dining at a farm-to-table restaurant is a unique and memorable experience. Its commitment to fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and its sustainable atmosphere is a great way to experience the best of the area’s cuisine in an unforgettable setting. The chefs also take great care to ensure that all the ingredients are cooked to perfection, so you’re sure to enjoy a delicious meal.
